Scott’s practice is multifaceted, spanning the full spectrum of intellectual property law from discrete licensing and transactional matters to high-stakes litigation. Scott also works closely with clients to build and monetize patent portfolios designed to maximize the long-term value of their intellectual property assets.
Scott represents clients of all sizes on complex matters involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, licensing, trade secret misappropriation, post-grant proceedings, and other intellectual property disputes. He works before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in inter partes and ex parte reviews, as well as in federal court, ensuring that legal strategies align with clients’ broader business goals.
Scott’s career experience also includes roles as a patent examiner for the USPTO, in-house counsel for a global technology company, and practicing at leading international law firms as well as his own firm. Before launching his legal career, Scott gained real-world engineering experience as a research and development engineer, further deepening his technical insight and enhancing his ability to address complex intellectual property transactional and litigation issues.
