Elie Cohen is a partner at Gavrilov & Brooks, involved in the firm’s trial practice, appellate practice, law and motion, and civil litigation.

His trial practice has had him first or second chair nine trials and prepare trial motions and documents for well over a dozen other trials and arbitrations for the firm, including representation of both plaintiff and defense and in both state and federal court.  His law and motion work includes summary judgment, injunctions, demurrer, and discovery motions, in addition to other motion work.  Elie has additionally participated in about a dozen appellate cases handled by Gavrilov & Brooks, including presenting several oral arguments before the Court of Appeal and prevailing on an emergency writ.
Elie’s experience in civil litigation has focused on business disputes, intentional torts, employment law, malpractice, and personal injury cases.
Elie received his J.D. with Distinction from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.  During law school, Elie received public service scholarships based on his dedication to the community.  Elie also earned a concertation in intellectual property law.  For the past several years, Elie has served on the Board of the Leonard M. Friedman Bar Association and Sacramento County Bar Association, and currently serves as President of the Leonard M. Friedman Bar Association.
